Generators with low noise emissions for Iraq's telecom network

In the last three years, HIMOINSA has supplied more than 500 generators for the telecommunications towers installed by the Ooredoo group in countries such as Iraq, Oman, Indonesia, Algeria and Tunisia. Many of them are specially configured to ensure noise emissions of 65dB at a distance of one metre

As most of the telecommunications towers are located in places that are highly sensitive to noise pollution, such as on rooftops in Iraq, the generators supplied by HIMOINSA to Asiacell, Ooredoo's operator in the country, offer noise levels of up to 65dB at a distance of one metre.

In the coming weeks, HIMOINSA will deliver to Asiacell, through Mesopotamia, its distributor in Iraq, around 100 17kVA generator sets with Yanmar engines. The units will supply emergency power to the Iraqi operator's telecommunications towers.

These new units will be added to the existing 350 HIMOINSA generators already in operation in Asiacell's telecommunications projects.

In view of the instability of the electricity network in parts of Iraq, all the units have an integrated ATS to allow not only switching with the grid, but also redundancy between several generators and between gensets and the grid, for those points where power outages are most critical.

They also incorporate a special kit that extends maintenance intervals up to 1000 hours, giving the generators a longer running time and reducing running costs. Specifically, for improved maintenance planning and to reduce the number of installation visits, all the units can be monitored remotely by means of the on-board fleet manager.

HIMOINSA signed an agreement with the Ooredoo telecommunications group in 2014 to supply generators in Algeria, Indonesia, Iraq, Kuwait, the Maldives, Myanmar, Oman, Palestine, Qatar and Tunisia. In addition to this, the company has a wealth of experience in the international telecommunications sector, having designed equipment with power outputs ranging from 8 to 45kVA for well-known companies such as Orange, Claro, Viva, Telefónica, Vodafone, China Telecom, Sri Lanka Telecom, China Unicom, Ericsson and France Telecom.
